    Mary Cynthia Dickerson (–) was an American herpetologist and the first curator of herpetology at the American Museum of Natural History, as well as the first curator in the now defunct department of Woods and ten years she was the editor of The American Museum Journal, which was renamed Natural History during her editorship. She published two books Born: March 7, , Hastings, Michigan. Founded in in Orange County, the Southwestern Herpetologists Society has met continuously in a variety of locations over the years. The Society’s Los Angeles Chapter meets in Van Nuys, California the first Wednesday of each month. Membership in SWHS is open to anyone interested in the study and conservation of reptiles and amphibians.

Overall this is a great book for any California herpetologists, especially for amateurs or especially as a first herp Herpetology of Lower California book guide. There is a wealth of information in it and it's amazing that Robert Stebbins and Samuel McGinnis could put together a field guide that is *California only* that is actually longer than the field guide that is for the entire Western section of North America/5(11).
